With
a 7" record that sold nearly 2000 copies in just one month, requests
for them to play coming from as far away as Denmark and being the
only Austrian band to appear on both the covers of a music magazine
and a fitness magazine, the members of ArnoCorps thought it was
time to take their message to a broader audience. It was apparent
to them, based on their observations in the media, that the world
was in dire need of their musical liberation. On a brisk Saturday
night in November of 1993, ArnoCorps executed the first performance
of their European tour at a club in Hamburg, Germany. They were
a hit. France, Spain, Italy, Sweden, the Netherlands; all were infiltrated
and all were conquered. All over Europe, non-Austrians were joining
the growing troop of followers affectionally calling themeselves
"The 'Corps". Coincidentally, 1993-94 saw a slight increase in Austria's
tourism, many of which were younger than older.
Throughout
1994, ArnoCorps toured Europe's hottest clubs and created one of
the strongest underground followings since the Sex Pistols in the
late 1970's. On the first day of 1995, Holzfeuer and bassist Karl
Dichtschnur planned their next move. Most bands would consider tackling
the US market, but that night, these two drunken Austrians decided
instead that they would take on the Communists. This was the nucleus
of what became known as ArnoCorps' Cold Front Tour.
